My worth is tested
By my fate within my inner being
How will I get through?
Am I even capable?
I guess I have to take
The long transforming journey
To find my mental strength
Throughout my life
I've always had hope
As much as I could muster
Now I'm fearful
There's no point in wishing
Or hoping for a better life
The insatiable hunger
In my heart
In my soul
For something
Anything
To be comfortable
With my entire being
Inside and out
I'm hungry for acceptance
By strangers
But most importantly
Myself
