Demi's words- When we choose to focus on what we have we are constantly happier people. Gratitude is said to be the emotion that is most connected with happiness. Even the wealthiest person in the world can think of things they don't have. It's not about accumulating more things; it's about focusing on the joy and beauty in your life by focusing on what is great in your life.

Goal- Don't decide happiness based on your material possession, but the love in your life today.

It's sometimes difficult when you struggle with depression to find things that you are thankful for because you're so focused on the things that are not enough. I don't even try to think anything positive when i'm in my depression because i know i will find a way to say "no, i'm still a failure" but afterwards when i'm in a better mindset i logically can pick out the good parts in my life and realize that being sad about things that i can't control is pointless because you can't change it. That doesn't mean your feelings of sadness are invalid, you are most definitely allowed to feel any emotion you want to but personally feel like i wasted my time and crying and being depressed on ot being confident in who i am and being sad about things that in the long run don't matter. Focus on things in your life that are positive and when you get sad, keep in mind that you are perfect the way you are and you don't have to prove that to anyone.
