Demi's words- Creativity is much more than just producing art. It also allows you to purge toxic emotions and thoughts in a positive, healthy way. For me, it's singing and playing music. When i perform, i'm able to express my emotions without engaging in self-destructive behavior.

Goal- Find a hobby that allows you to release strong emotions in a healthy way.


Distraction i have found is a crucial part in recovery, trying to stop behaviors is really hard and sometimes you need to distract yourself with engaging in your hobbies and interests while expressing your emotions at the same time. If those don't work, don't give up and give in, call someone you trust and talk your feelings out with someone that you know will be there for you. It's really hard to retrain your mind to saying "no, i'm not going to do this" because for the longest time that's been your number one go to when things get tough. It may be hard but it is the best thing to stopping them. What will you do today to take care of your body and mind?
